Nigerian-born Ifeoma Ikenze, MD, is a practitioner and national advocate for homeopathy. Dr. Ikenze began her career as an allopathic (western) doctor and made the transition to homeopathic remedies after studying the teachings of Samuel Hahnemann, an 18th-century German physician who is the founder of modern homeopathy. Dr. Hahnemann believed that medical problems could be relieved by taking tiny doses of the natural substance that actually caused symptoms and he began extensive experiments on the curative properties of a wide variety of ingredients from the natural world. Dr. Ikenze, founder and director of the Elizabeth Center in San Anselmo, CA. She has written numerous articles and books, including Menopause & Homeopathy: A Guide for Women in Midlife.
A strong element of Dr. Ikenze’s practice is pediatrics, where homeopathy is especially helpful in strengthening the immune systems of children. Pediatric homeopathy is popular with parents seeking treatment for conditions that would otherwise (in western medicine) require their children to take medications that can cause unwanted side-effects. Dr. Ikenze is a licensed MD and has been practicing homeopathic medicine for over twenty years. Dr. Ikenze earned her medical degree at Albert Einstein Medical School in New York and her homeopathic certification from the British Institute of Homeopathy.
Dr. Ikenze believes in the homeopathic philosophy that there are no remedies for diseases, but rather remedies for individuals. I love having a practice where I can take the time to get to know people and help them discover what really works for them and their health issues.
